Chef Rolf Hensche
Born in 1961 in Germany, Rolf Hensche began his culinary journey as a chef apprentice in 1976. After completing his military service in 1980, where he specialized in Electronic Warfare by setting up complex mobile computer units, Rolf moved to the United States in 1982. He started as a busboy and quickly ascended through the ranks aboard cruise ships.
In 1996, Rolf received a significant career opportunity at Cunard Headquarters in Manhattan, New York. Following the acquisition of Cunard by Carnival in 1998, he relocated to Miami, where he became the Director of Procurement for Cunard and Seabourn. Notably, he was responsible for procuring materials for the iconic Queen Mary 2, culminating in an invitation to her christening by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in Southampton on January 8, 2004.
In 2004, Rolf transitioned to Carnival Corporation, overseeing worldwide food and beverage procurement, and was promoted to Vice President in 2013. In 2015, he joined InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in Dunwoody, Georgia, to establish their global procurement program, retiring in 2018.
Rolf and his wife, Marina, moved to Ellijay, Georgia, in 2018, where they purchased a building at 24 River Street. After extensive renovations, they opened Emily’s Restaurant and Bar on July 4th, 2019. Following the successful sale of the business in November 2022, they are excited to launch the Noble Nosh Private Supper Club and Emilicious Fine Foods and Catering in March/April 2023. Committed to their community, Rolf and Marina actively support several local charities.
